311 Concert

July 17, 2008

So the 311/Matisyahu concert was a whole lot of fun. Its funny how we had planned this thing a month or so in advance and ended up going spontaneously. LOL. See, we were so tired from Crome the night before that I hadn’t thought about it. April B. called me late afternoon out of the blue and spontaneously wanted to go too. So an hour before the show, Chris, Nicole, April, Ash, and muself drove off for the woodlands, ticketless, to find an adventure. It certainly was one on the way up. Nicole and April were hard at work and by the time we got there, I was lucky to have known my own name!

Matisyahu beatboxing was my favorite performance.

Also, little did I know that I would be sweating like a death row inmate all night! All the precipitation and humidity turned the hill into one big slip-and-slide. My greatest pride and joy of the night actually wasn’t the beers or stealing sips out of April and Ash’s swirls, it was rescuing several people from the humility of a muddy fall. Justin & Ty Moon came with their girlfriends and ran into us so we ended up planting our chairs around the same slippery spot. It really was fun sitting there watching people fall all night. Other than passing around spliffs, and watching drunken rednecks wrestling around in the mud, the falling was my personal highlight. As for me though, this badass did not fall at all. I was spinning, sliding, even slaloming through crowds of people to get on and off the hill but I did not fall, not even once. Yeah!

Anyways, we closed out the evening to 311’s “Who’s Got the Herb” as we took the 2 second walk to the car, only to traverse the rest of the way home in complete exhausted silence.

Marissa Wu – Birthday 2007

July 17, 2008

OMG… Does my head hurt?!?! Don’t answer that…. Aside from having to come up to the office to send out a report on a Sunday, my hung-over morning was actually well spent watching TaleSpin and The Rescue Rangers on the Apple to fulfill my Sunday morning cartoon quota! And despite the fact that everyone at the house is still undoubtedly passed out, I’m already trying to figure out how the hell I can afford to go to 311/Matisyahu tonight on good conscience with the burden of spending multiple hundreds of dollars on bottle service at Crome last night for Marissa’s birthday. I think somehow, several people owe me some $$$ so hopefully, I won’t have to wait in line for government assistance and food stamps tommorow! In any case, here are the pics that tell the story of a very drunken evening…

Sponsors: Special Thanks to my main man Chea, who saved us from cover charge death at Crome and for finding us a badass table with chains and sh*t. Also, thanks to Grey Goose and her sidekick, Red Bull, for f*cking up my evening. And of course, to my suit, Junker, who was kind enough to host the UFC 73 Pre-Game at his Condo by the Bread Factory!

July 4th Weekend 2007

July 17, 2008

So 4th of July week is coming and going before our very eyes. Independence Day came and went without much fanfare, which was actually kind of nice. I spent the majority of the afternoon spending some quality time with my Mom at my parents’ place before heading back to Houston. My brother, Chris, and I eventually made it out to a dinner party Blair invited Kris to. All this time and I had no idea that the Blair my brother always referes to is actually Bryce’s sister. Very small world. Both Bryce and his father, James, were at the dinner party so we enjoyed watching the tennis match and talking film before heading off to watch Transformers late night. That was the entire 4th of July Celebration. Very nonchalant. … I wish I could say the same for the day prior. We went to Kona and 702 but passed on Bond and midtown. Instead, we went back to our place to party, minus the offending tripod, to finish off the evening and attempt to solve the mystery of the missing featherbed. Here are some pics:

The Launch Party

July 17, 2008

The Launch Party

What an absolutely crazy time! Between everyone running around with their own personal champagne bottles and the silly dancers and all the other craziness that went on, this thing was INSANE! I bet most of everyone that came was stuck in bed until six the next day. I’m saying that because GNZ was permanently attached to my couch for the entire day, unable to cook, clean, or get a mop. LOL. Personally, and like usual, I made it a point to clean the place up very early in the morning, which wasn’t what woke everyone up. In any case, it was a very good time and I’m glad everyone had fun. We’re going to do it again in the very near future. Here is
the picture album but below are a few of my faves.

Special Thanks to our sponsors: GNZ’s Roses, Rangel Tamale’s, Mexcor, The Drunken Ninja Clan, and Junker, our in-house counsel.

Madison’s Birthday & Crome

As far as the rest of the weekend, and we’ll just remove Saturday b/c its like it didn’t happen this week, we had an awesome time! Chris, Kris, and I went on to Madison’s 2nd Birthday Party on Sunday. The pool at Sienna is great, with waterslides and high diving boards and all, so we ran around and had a good old time. Barring the injuries from the brutal game of musical chairs (Mariam won $65), it was really fun. We ended off the week at Crome with the girls and our 1 pimp, Chea, who was kind enough to comp some brutal shots of Jaeger to snap me back into reality.
