Easter Weekend 2006

July 17, 2008

UFC 59  Frankensteins

Watched UFC 59 last night at the bar with the guys from the gym and some other friends. Overall, a good time, except for the fact that the card ran a little too late to make it out to midtown afterwards, which we had planned all week. That and I missed the main event, which was the best (and most exciting) fight of the entire card. Complete and utter disappointment on my part but at least Gino gave me the recap on the  phone. I was so sad I just went home and went to bed. Worked out though. At least I didn’t feel like crap driving to San Antonio on Sunday.

Crime: Pretty girls couldn’t wait the 2 minutes 43 seconds for event to end so we could leave.
Verdict: GUILTY!

EASTER SUNDAY

For Easter Sunday, my parents and I took a road trip to San Antonio to have lunch. We picked up a hungover Kris in his San Marcos condo…

…then went to meet Tina and Steve for lunch at Zio’s in San Antonio…

…we went back to my sister’s apartment, took a nap and hung out at Tina’s apartment for a few hours before heading back to Houston.

3.26.06 – Fights

July 17, 2008
The blaringly apparent pang I feel in my head from the hangover from hell is the only remnant from a night of absolute debauchary. Fate was definately trying to tell me something when I fell over a parking bump and ate shit in Eddie’s parking lot before we even left for the fights. We all knew it was going to be that type of night…

I met up with the crew at Eddie’s and Omar’s around 4:30. Marissa Wu from Austin met us up there as well. Shortly upon our arrival, Marissa and myself went to El Patio for a a quick dinner and four of those brutally blue margaritas that they are so famous for. After gaining that initial buzz, we stopped by Spec’s to procure about $100 worth of Petron, Vodka, and drinking accessories, which we subsequently put to good use when we got back to apartment. Between putting on our suits, taping boobs down, mixing vodka/cranberries, taking petron shots, and falling down in the parking lot, we were finally ready for the fights.

The most hilarious moment ever happened right in front of the Toyota Center. See, Omar dropped us all off right in front before parking his car. Apparently, Marissa totally forgot she was carrying the bottle of Petron and a limes in the ziploc. So we’re walking to the entrance and she drops the limes right in front of these police officers. Keep in mind we were already hammered by now… So yeah, the cops yell at us, as we’re walking away, that we dropped our limes. Way to be incognito right. We ended up taking a few more petron shots in front of the arena before hiding the petron outside in an inconspicious location. Oh yeah, we got the tequila back after the fights.

We only stayed for three fights or so. Only one of which I remember. Steve beat some guy from Cardella’s school. I bought an $85 round of double-somethings from the Toyota Center for the group. That bartender at club level bar 119 absolutely raped my wallet. That drink also caused Marissa to pass out in her seat. Anyways, pictures of Steve’s fight below.

Upon our abrupt exit from the event, we ended up going to Kara’s Condo so she could change. Several pool games, a busted lip, and some drunken wrestling, we ended up leaving for Red Door.

Yup. The beginning of the end. I totally threw up in the parking lot. This, ladies and gentlemen, was the beginning of the end.

The rest of the night? I can hardly remember it but Omar took pictures so apparently, here they are.

That’s about it. So yeah, we left…

A House of Pies later and it’s bedtime for a very sick, dinasour-calling on the balcony bullet and friends.

2.26.06 – Got my Blue Belt!

July 17, 2008

I had a good time yesterday. Eric Williams presented me with my blue during testing. I couldn’t do shit rolling yesterday though. All the guys I was paired with outweighed me by at least 30 pounds and murdered me. Nonetheless, I look forward to defending the new belt, training harder, and getting better. Congrats to myself, Kubes, Thiago, David, and all the other guys that got upped today.

Since the laffstop tickets for Rogan fell through and Forrest and the guys ended up not going to 410, I ended up going out with Ashleigh. We went to 713 for some sushi and sake bombs and ran into Caleb Roberts and his brother. Haven’t seen him in awhile. I have to remind myself to stop by PF Chang’s on Westheimer by the office soon. They left after not too long and Spencer & Cynthia met us up. We ended up barhopping past Vito’s and Firehouse Saloon before we ultimately ended up at Dave & Busters and acted a fool drinking and playing video games. What a typical double date, ha ha. Me and Spencer got pretty winded playing this boxing game and we all just had fun goofing off. By the end of the night there, we ended up pretty hammered. And thus, me and Ash ended up in midtown to stop by the infamous bar and then the taqueria for a 3am beer or two. Saw Justin and Mike there from the old days. Justin says he wants to stop by Elite to try grappling out. Anyways, I drove me ans Ash back to my house and we hung out and talked until about 5am. All that activity on saturday ngiht resulted in a very lazy sunday spent on the couch with a slight headache and missing the huge birthday bash for Louie at Madamozelle. Sorry for not making it Tiff. Yup. That’s about it for this weekend. I’m going to watch Dancing with the Stars and call it a night. Go Stacy! LOL.
